In a previous post, we talked about some of our favorite go-to spots right here in Downtown Lancaster. But when you’re staying in a five-star hotel in Lancaster, we hope that you’ll want to linger a bit longer and explore more of what our beautiful county has to offer.
The Lancaster Arts Hotel is one of the best places to stay in the urban center of Lancaster, PA, but it’s also a great hub if you want to explore the quaint towns and farmland in the surrounding region. We’ve put together another list of some of our favorite places in Lancaster County that we highly recommend our guests to visit if they have the time!
1. Tomato Pie Café
Whether you want breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a quick bite, the Tomato Pie Café has it all. Their menu may be simple, but it’s also artistic and provides the perfect balance of light, fresh, and savory foods. With an urban flair, this eatery and coffee shop is one of our favorite spots to stop in Lititz, PA.

2. Lancaster Science Factory
When you’re looking for a place to take your kids, the Lancaster Science Factory is the perfect stop for fun and learning. This Lancaster County interactive science center is geared towards children between the ages of 7 and 13 (younger and older are still welcome!) and makes for a perfect day trip. With plenty of STEM-themed exhibits to explore and participate in, this spot is one of our favorites to mention to out-of-town visitors with kids.

3. Dosie Dough
If you’re craving the taste of delectable homemade bread and baked goods, Dosie Dough is the place to go. Locally and family-owned, this bakery is a friendly place to relax with a cup of coffee, or simply pick up a few tasty treats on the go. Fresh bagels, European-style breads, homemade donuts, and baked goods—need we say more?

4. Board and Brush Lancaster
You’ve heard of “wine and paint” nights, but how about “wine and board” nights? At Board and Brush in Lancaster, you get to create trendy, farmhouse-style décor for your home, all while spending time with friends or family. All you need to bring is your wine, and they’ll provide the paint and crafting materials!

5. Whiff Roasters
Coffee lovers, do we ever have the place for you! With rich, flavorful, and exquisite blends, Whiff Roasters is gourmet coffee at its finest. The coffee is roasted right here in Lancaster County, offering premium freshness you won’t want to miss.

6. The Amish Farm and House
A visit to Lancaster County isn’t complete without visiting America’s very first Amish attraction! At The Amish Farm and House, you’re invited to learn more about the fascinating life, history, and traditions of Lancaster’s Amish people. There are many seasonal activities that are great for all ages, and the best part—there are horse and buggy rides!

7. Slate Café
And last, but certainly not least on our list is Slate Café, also located in Lititz! This quaint little café has some of the tastiest pastries, tea, coffee, and light lunch fare you can find in Lancaster County. The café is a local favorite, so make sure you stop in during your stay in Lancaster County.
